The story of the manuscript follows a narrator as she discovers her sister transformed into a spider on the morning of her wedding. Upon telling it to their mother, her mother confesses that she turned into a fly on her wedding day. Hand-tooled shapes on the cover are drawn from squashed flies, spiders and other insects as well as scribal smudges and corrections appeared in the manuscript.
